The Tadoba Inheritance Photography Contest was born out of a desire to draw out the finest images, old and new, black and white or colour, that have ever been shot in the Greater Tadoba landscape. The contest is being organised by Sanctuary Asia in association with the Government of Maharashtra and the Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve Conservation Foundation. The best pictures will not only be awarded prizes, but may also be featured in Sanctuary's forthcoming coffee table book ‘The Tadoba Inheritance', which will be out early in 2014.

For the first time, even camera trap and remote control images are eligible (no bird nesting, zoo or images of animals artificially restrained will be eligible). Only images shot in the Greater Tadoba Landscape geography are eligible. This includes the buffer areas and nearby Protected Areas, such as Umred-Karhandla, plus connecting corridors. Best-known for its tigers, we hope however that photographers will flood us with images of the entire diversity of life in Tadoba, large and small, avian, terrestrial and aquatic.
The images, which will be judged by a jury comprising Sanctuary Asia staff and nominees, will also be used to defend the habitats and species photographed.
