Those arrested include Ram Kewal, 32, Mahadev Mandal, 42, Jitendra Kumar Mahara, all of them from Janakpur-1, Bardibas of Mahottari. A 6.5 feet long and 4.5 feet wide tiger skin was recovered from them.
This is the fifth incident of the smuggling of tiger parts in the last 10 months.
The seizure comes on the eve of international tiger conference slated for November 21-24 in Russia. Since the beginning of 2010, 16 persons allegedly involved in smuggling tiger parts have been arrested. Read the full report here.
