Tiger Killed In Wire Trap Near Tipeshwar

The spot is 500 meters away from Tipeshwar wildlife sanctuary. The tiger's body was found in a nullah. According to information reaching here, field director Pench tiger reserve A Ashraf and assistant conservator of forest (ACF) GK Vashisht are visiting the spot. The post mortem will be conducted on Monday in the presence of forest officials and NTCA representatives. The body parts of the tiger are intact.

Forest officials have launched a hunt for the poacher and it is suspected the tiger was a resident male of Tipeshwar sanctuary. Last year, the presence of three tigers was recorded at the sanctuary. A five years ago, one tiger had been poached in a similar manner near Tipeshwar. Read the full report here.
