Two New Business Bills Address Climate Change

Developers want to see passage of a bill that would streamline the environmental review process for projects that comply under greenhouse gas regulations previously passed under California's groundbreaking climate-change laws.

Assembly Bill 880 would do just that by allowing such projects expedited review through a focused environmental impact report. It is scheduled to be heard by the Senate Environmental Quality Committee.

California manufacturers and many other trade groups have opposed the second bill, which goes to the Assembly Natural Resources Committee on Monday. Read the full report here.
