U.S. Records Lowest Emissions In A Decade!

Compiled by Bloomberg New Energy Finance (BNEF) for the Business Council for Sustainable Energy (BCSE), the report finds that last year, emissions reached their lowest levels since 1994, thanks to the expansion in natural gas usage, as well as renewables, which represented the largest single source of new growth last year, reaching $44 billion in 2012. Decreased energy use, popularisation of hybrid and plug-in vehicles, and developments in climate science have also been cited as causes for the decline, which, together with an increase in U.S. GDP, belies claims that climate change action would be a drag on the economy.
