The closing of some roads for traffic led to a rush of vehicles on others. It took commuters 45 minutes to cover the distance that takes them 15 minutes on any other day. After reaching the city at around 11 am, Ramesh went to the Circuit House for 15 minutes, during which period police didn't allow anybody to come on the approach road. It was opened only when the minister had left for Haibowal Pulli. Badi Pulli Haibowal-Rose Garden road, Haibowal chowk, DMC road, Hambarra road were some of the stretches closed to traffic.
Ruing the fact that VIP visits prove be a major headache for residents, Sushil Kumar who was on way to his showroom at Ghumar Mandi, said, ''The arrival of a minister or dignitary shouldn't inconvenience commuters.'' Read the full report here.
