The compilation makes for interesting reading, even for those immersed in the ebb and flow of conservation because it enables the reader to juxtapose the minds of hands on wildlifers past and present - a luxury largely denied these days when most individuals are cocooned in castles of their own making, separated by deep moats and even deeper differences.
It's a book worth acquiring.
