Wildlife Protection Or Industrial Clearances Body?

Whereas it should be dealing with crucial issues such as Centre-State relationships for protection of wildlife, effective and timely utilisation of wildlife funds, steps needed to counter poaching and to fight forest fire etc, increasingly it has become a mere stepping stone for the clearance of commercial and industrial projects that end up harming the wildlife habitats and species the NBWL was set up to protect.
