Tiger defender Sarboranjan Mondal undertook this initiative on behalf of the Aircel-Sanctuary Bagh Bachaao Campaign or Aandolan. The children from Masjidbati village were shown the nylon net fencing that separates the forest from the villages and were educated about water pollution and biodiversity conservation. The temperature, soaring at 42 degrees with 98 per cent humidity, also helped them understand the concept of global warming and climate change.
The Bagh Bachaao Aandolan was launched in 2015, by Aircel in partnership with Sanctuary to spread awareness about human-animal conflict amongst communities living around the Sundarbans National Park, which is recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
