Veiled stinkhorn
Veiled stinkhorn Genus Phallus (=Dictyophora) grows on wet organic matter.
Stinkhorns belong to the Order Phallales and all members produce a black, slimy mass of spores on the caps that smell like rotting meat. Not surprisingly, these then attract flies on which mushrooms are dependent for dissemination of their spores.
